Great episode! What struck me most in this one was how easily Joel lies. And the excuses he used for those lies. And then the fake apologies and begging for mercy. It sounded so similar to the pleas for mercy my ex gave to the judge in his criminal case and in our divorce case. It reminded me of the performance of tears he displayed during our divorce trials. These actors or sooo good at playing their part and I’m so incredibly grateful that the police investigators and FBI and judges involved in my ex’s case saw right through his fakery and manipulative lies!!
The CSPD is widely regarded as a cautionary example for other Midwestern police departments due to its poor practices. Unlike most departments, which typically remove officers like him, the CSPD stands out for its failure to do so.
